Metal Doesn't Stand a Chance with Hitachi's Newly Redesigned 14 Inch Chop Saw

NORCROSS, GA., November 11, 2005 - Hitachi Power Tools today announced its newly redesigned 14" Chop Saw, the CC14SF. This tool is built to cut cold formed steel, rebar and pipe quickly and efficiently. It follows Hitachi's new aggressive design standard and comes with a convenient D-handle coated in Hitachi's patented elastomer compound to reduce vibration, while adding comfort and preventing slippage. And with Hitachi's industry leading 5-year warranty, the CC14SF is ideal for professionals who demand a workhorse of a tool at a competitive value.

The hefty 15 Amp (2,000 Watt) motor produces a no-load speed of 3,800 RPM for greater cutting efficiency through the toughest materials. It is designed to be portable, rugged and lightweight (one of the lightest in its class at only 36.4 lbs) to withstand being transported between trucks and jobsites on a daily basis. The adjustable fence is easy to use and adjust to make up to 45 degree miter cuts to the right or left. A chute off the back of the saw diverts sparks away from the user and can be angled to best suit the workspace.

Safety is a big concern when using an abrasive chop saw. The CC14SF features a conveniently located trigger switch with lock-off button to operate the saw and prevent accidental starts. The elastomer coated D-handle absorbs vibration, adds comfort and prevents slippage while offering maximum control over the tool when making cuts. Hitachi's quick-lock/release vise provides fast feeding and changing of materials of different sizes, which increases productivity and accuracy.

Hitachi's CC14SF can cut up to 4-47/64" round pipe and 9-1/4" x 2-29/64" (WxH) rectangular tubing for a large cutting capacity range. Mounting and removal of the cut off wheel is easy with a spindle lock and externally accessible carbon brushes make maintaining the tool a breeze. This chop saw is versatile and can cut various steel materials such as pipes, shaped steel, round bars, angle iron and other materials like conduit pipe, channels, tubing and drywall track.

The Hitachi CC14SF comes complete with a 14" cut-off wheel and 8mm hex bar wrench. It is the ideal chop saw for general contractors, construction professionals, manufacturers and steel fabricators who demand reliability and value.
