New Lightweight Chiseling Hammer from Metabo Ideal for Precision Removal of Concrete and Stone
WEST CHESTER, Pa. January 2009 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced the SDS-max MHE 56 chiseling hammer for precision removal and chipping of concrete and stone. The tool's D support handle and compact design - only 18 inches long and less than 17 lb - gives users more control over the tool, while the 14 A motor provides powerful operation.
This combination makes the MHE 56 ideal for use in a variety of specialized applications, such as removing tiles, ceiling décor or small walled sections as well as chipping out cement surrounding window frames. An easily engaged impact reduction switch that reduces power by 30% enables the chiseling hammer to be used for the removal of brittle or softer material, as well.
The German-engineered MHE 56 chipping hammer features a die-cast magnesium gearbox housing that is both sturdy and lightweight, as well as a service indicator light that lets the operator know to schedule routine maintenance.
The MHE 56's flexible design elements enable the tool to be used in virtually any working position, including hard to reach spaces. Metabo's VibraTech (MVT) handle, which reduces vibration up to 60% and enhances user comfort via an integrated damping system, can be fitted at three different points on the tool, and the chisel is lockable in 12 positions. The lockable switch is comfortable enough for long duration chipping work.
The MHE 56 provides 0 to 2,840 bpm with up to 14 joules per impact. Other key features include Vario Tacho Constamatic (VTC) electronic soft start for precise start of chiseling, constant speed control for increased performance under load and a 9-foot rubber-clad power cord.
The tool comes complete with auto-stop carbon brushes, a carbon brush wear indicator, a winding protection grid and a 360-degree support handle.
