Stackpole Expands Precision Resistor Offering To 2010 And 2512 Sizes for Instrumentation & Control Markets

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 29, 2005) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. has expanded its line of precision chip resistors to include 2010 and 2512 sizes to address accuracy and stability concerns in ultra-precise instrumentation and control circuitry.

Designated the RNC Series, the 2010 size (RNC 57) is rated to ½ Watt @ 70°C and has resistance values as low as 4.7Ω to 1M Ω, in tolerances to 0.1%. The 2512 size (RNC 63) is rated to 1 Watt @ 70°C and has resistance values as low as 4.7Ω to 1M Ω, in tolerances to 0.1%. The RNC Series is rated for operation from temperatures of -55°C to 150°C.

Regarding the launch of the 2010 and 2512 RNC Series, Stackpole Product Manager Kory Schroeder, commented, "The availability of tight absolute tolerance and TCR provides an excellent cost solution for applications that previously required more costly resistor types. In the past, there were far fewer options for these higher power and larger size requirements. The RNC now provides designers with a more complete range of chip sizes for applications that require improved tolerance and TC over that of a standard thick film chip resistor."

Typical applications for the RNC Series of resistors include precision circuits, such as attenuator circuits, bridge circuits, RC oscillators and active filters for instrumentation, medical equipment, computers, power supplies and telecommunications.

RNC Series pricing is tolerance and TCR dependent, but $0.25 is typical in quantities of 1,000 pieces. Lead times for the RNC Series is 3 to 6 weeks. Alternatively, the RNC Series is available via SEI Fast, Stackpole's guaranteed, quick delivery service.
