Protected recessed barrier strip allows all connections to be made in tight quarters, and 4 through holes facilitate mounting as well asheatsink attachment. Other features include isolated input to output, 260 kHz switching frequency,respective line and load regulationof 0.01% and 0.02%, remote sense and trim, remote ON/OFF, and auto-softstart.

Calex Mfg. Co., Inc., based in Concord California, announces the availability of the 150W HCM Series of single output DC/DC Converters. The HCM offers a wide 4:1 input range, 9 to 36VDC and 18 to 75VDC. Output voltages available are 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24VDC. All models are isolated input to output and backed by Calex’s Five Year Warranty.

The HCM measures 4.3” x 3.2” x 1.0”H. Unit weight is 11.4oz.

The HCM features a protected, recessed barrier strip facing the top of the case. This allows all connections to be made in tight quarters while protecting the barrier strip from physical damage. Four through holes are provided for easy mounting as well as the attachment of a heatsink for extended temperature use. A DIN mount option is available as well. The HCM is fully encapsulated to withstand a variety of environmental conditions including dust, moisture, shock and vibration. Both RoHS and non-RoHS versions are available.

All models include remote sense and trim, remote ON/OFF, and auto-softstart. Each model also features volt-seconds clamp and fast over voltage protection, pulse by pulse current limiting, short circuit frequency foldback, dead short shutdown and thermal shutdown. The switching frequency of the HCM is 260kHz.

Efficiencies run as high as 89%. Output noise is typically 1% of Vout. Reflected ripple is 30mA peak to peak. Line and load regulation is 0.01% and 0.02% respectively. Output voltage setpoint accuracy is +/-1%.

The operating temperature range of the HCM is -40 to +100C. The storage range is -40 to +120C.
