November 21, 2006 - Combining direct measuring polarographic sensor and circular chart recorder, Model B20 provides 24-hr or 7-day recording of chlorine residuals in measuring ranges adjustable from 0-5 or 0-20 ppm. Sensor utilizes polymeric membrane to isolate sensing electrodes from sample and eliminate potential for electrode contamination. Clear, constant-head flowcell assembly maintains desired flow. Model B20 is housed in NEMA 3 enclosure with circular glass viewing window.

Analytical Technology Launches New Integrated Solution for Obtaining Permanent Chlorine Residual Records

(October 31, 2006) - Analytical Technology, Inc. (ATi) has developed an innovative new Residual Chlorine Recorder to provide an integrated and cost-effective solution for monitoring chlorine residuals in water. Traditionally, obtaining permanent chlorine residual records involved the time consuming and expensive process of purchasing both a residual chlorine monitor and a recorder and connecting them. The novel B20 combines a direct measuring polarographic membraned sensor and a circular chart recorder on a single platform ensuring simpler installation and easier operation at a lower cost.

The direct measuring polarographic sensor of the B20 utilises a special polymeric membrane to isolate the sensing electrodes from the sample and eliminate the potential for electrode contamination. The system features sensors for both free chlorine measurements and for combined chlorine monitoring where chloramine treatment is in use. The sensors produce reliable results with only minimal maintenance while also eliminating the need for chemical buffers and other reagents.

Membraned chlorine sensors require a constant sample flow past the membrane in order to provide stable and accurate readings. The new B20 has been equipped with a clear constant-head flowcell assembly that automatically maintains the desired flow. Moreover, this groundbreaking instrument is capable of providing either 24-hour or 7-day recording of chlorine residuals in measuring ranges adjustable from 0-5 PPM or 0-20 PPM. Furthermore, hose barbs for sample inlet and drain are provided for connection of flexible PVC tubing.

The new B20 is housed in a NEMA 3 enclosure with a circular glass viewing window and is suitable for either wall or panel mounting. A digital chlorine concentration display is readily visible without opening the door of the recorder. Replaceable felt tip chart pens and two alarms are also included as standards.
