Charge-Air-Cooler suits class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.

Press Release Summary:

Heavy-duty charge-air-cooler (CAC) incorporates extruded tubes that are 2x thickness of welded aluminum tubes used by most OEMs. Tubes improve structural stability to withstand vibration, heat, and expansion routinely experienced by heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. All units must pass 100 psi pressure test with zero tolerance for leaks. Cores are available with either louvered or non-louvered fin, depending on application.

Original Press Release:

Heavy-Duty Charge-Air-Cooler Line Designed to Improved Performance Advantages for Class 6, 7 & 8 Trucks

Philadelphia, PA - Active Radiator has introduced a line of heavy-duty charge-air-coolers (CACs) for class 6, 7 & 8 trucks. The charge-air-cooler line incorporates an extruded tube, exclusive to Active Radiator. The extruded tubes are a minimum of twice the thickness of the welded aluminum tubes used by most OEMs. The extruded tubes improve structural stability to withstand the vibration, heat and expansion routinely experienced by heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The CAC line has been proven to exceed manufacturer's specifications for heat transfer when subjected to wind tunnel testing. Additionally, the CAC line surpassed OEM performance requirements of 1,000,000 cycles, going 1,201,582 cycles without a leak prior to tests being terminated. While many manufacturer's specifications allow for new CACs a leak tolerance of a 5psi drop within 15 seconds at 30psi, all Active CACs must pass a 100psi pressure test with a zero tolerance for leaks.

Active also offers the capability to design and build custom charge-air-coolers to satisfy short run manufacturer requirements as well as specialty applications for end users. Charge-air-cooler cores are available with either louvered or non-louvered fin, depending on the application.
