mk® Automation Introduces Modular Flat Top Chain Conveyor System

Bloomfield, CT April 28, 2005..mk Automation, Inc. announces the new modular Flat Top chain conveyor system SBF-P 2254 designed for use as simple stand-alone units or complex integrated system applications in packaging, assembly, medical devices and pharmaceutical industries. Assembled in segments, this conveyor can be manufactured quickly using various individual components including rolling and gliding (90˚ and 180˚) curves, straights, inclines and declines and transfer segments. The versatility of this conveyor suits various layout configurations, loads, and conveyor length requirements. In addition, mk’s construction design allows for these Flat Top units to be quickly and economically reconfigured to handle changing production and product handling needs. Design considerations also include use of commercially available components when replacements are needed eliminating reliance on OEM chains. Flat Top conveyors are furnished in two standard widths (100mm and 130mm) and three chain materials: low friction, high strength, weight saving Acetal glass reinforced polyester for no dusting and abrasive environments, and FDA approved Kevlar® reinforced Delrin that offers low friction, strong wear resistance, high temperatures. All chain is completely guided using wear strips on the running side as well as the return.

Conveyor frames are extremely rigid incorporating standard mk Profiles which feature 10 mm T-slot, and accessories such as side rails, sensors, stopper cylinders, stop and locate stations and stands can be easily mounted to the conveyor at any time. Motors can be located on left or right side. Motors include AC fractional JP 230/460/1/60 and fractional HP DC units. Speed controls are also available.
