February 13, 2002 - Ziralcast 95 is made primarily of pure fused alumina bubbles that can be cast into structural components for furnaces such as flue liner/stack, door vestibules, and furnace crowns. Other furnace furniture that may be cast includes crucible holder in glass melting research or covers for metal melting and transport systems. After initial set time of 1-4 hr, and final set time of 7-10 hr, it reaches bulk density of 1500 kg per cubic meter (93.6 pcf).

ZIRCAR Ceramics, Inc., Florida, NY is proud to announce the introduction of ZIRCAR Alumina Castable Type ZIRALCAST 95. ZIRALCAST 95 is a high purity, extra-high alumina refractory castable composed primarily of pure fused alumina bubbles.

ZIRALCAST 95 exhibits a composition of 95.6% AL203, 3.8% CaO and 0.6% other oxides. It is a blend of AI203 bubbles and refractory cement with a uniform particle size less than 4 mesh (5mm). After an initial set time of 1-4 hours and final set time of 7-10 hours, ZIRALCAST 95 reaches a bulk density of 1500 kg/mE+03 (93.6 pcf). ZIRALCAST 95's maximum use temperature is 1800C.

Applications for ZIRALCAST 95 include * Structural components on furnaces such as: Flue Liner/Stack, Door Vestibules, Furnace Crowns

* Furnace furniture such as: crucible holder in glass melting research

* Covers for metal melting and transport systems

ZIRALCAST 95 is available in 55# bags or as custom made cast shapes.
