Ondrives Cast Iron Gear Range

Ondrives Ltd have recently extended their precision spur gear range by adding cast iron (GG25) to the already wide variety of materials available as standard.

The cast iron spur gears are available from 1.5 up to 3 Mod with between 18 to 98 teeth being the norm, states Sales Director Andy Higgs. "Generally, only the bigger sizes call for something like cast iron and Ondrives have designed these gears with this in mind," he continues. All are made to exacting standards being made in-house at Ondrives' extensive CNC facility, and as part of the precision gear range, are the perfect addition to the series.

Cast iron has been chosen by Ondrives as it offers good strength and wear resistance, making it an excellent choice for those applications that deem these properties necessary. Cast iron is widely used in a large variety of engineering applications and this makes it a popular choice given it's resistance to destruction and weakening usually caused by rust.

Other materials available as standard are 817M40T (28 HRC) steel, 805M20 case hardened (58 HRC) steel, 303 and 316 stainless steel, PEEK GF 30®, Delrin POM, titanium and skive hobbed versions. Customers are invited to send in any special requests whether it be for unusual materials and/or sizes to their drawings. All quotes are done on a quick turnaround and a no-obligation basis.
