The Econopacker Automates Product Handling
RANDOLPH, MA (August, 2002) – ECONOCORP, Inc., a leading manufacturer of moderate and lower speed cartoning, tray forming and case packing equipment exhibits their newest system; the ECONOPACKER, a cost effective and simple semi-automatic case packing solution at Pack Expo, Booth #S202.
ECONOCORP’s semi-automatic ECONOPACKER case packer provides a lower cost, first step to reducing labor and automating case packing. Typical uses include case packing of all types of multi-packed cartoned and canned products.
The ergonomically friendly machine controls the flow and grouping of product automatically, eliminating miscounts due to human error. For example, cartons or cans enter the collating/up stacking area of the Econopacker at random via the infeed belt conveyor. The Econopacker will stack product into the appropriate pack pattern matrix. The operator simply has to place a case into position by positioning the open end over the automatic loading funnel. The loading of product automatically into the positioned case is then initiated by pressing a foot pedal. The case is then pneumatically lowered from the loading area onto its bottom and is then transferred via the exit conveyor to be top and bottom taped.
