Littelfuse Introduces 285 Series 5X20 mm Size Gold-Plated Fuses for Audio and Medical Equipment

Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS), today introduced the 285 Series 5x20mm size cartridge fuse with gold-plated caps (or with rhodium-plated caps upon request) and ceramic body used as supplementary protection in appliance or utilization equipment. The 285 series is ideal for highly sensitive circuit applications such as high-end audio and medical equipment with low magnetic requirement.

Unlike other similar offerings in the market, the 285 series is with ceramic body design which provides better resonance effect and higher breaking capacity (1500A/250VAC). It provides two options in cap plating: gold and rhodium (upon request) so as to increase flexibility for the manufacturers.

The 285 series has PSE agency approval and is available in current ratings from 125mA to 20A. The maximum fault current rating (Interrupt Rating) for 125mA to 10A is 1500A, for 15A is 500A and for 20A is 400A. The 285 series is 100 percent lead-free and compliant with RoHS requirements.
