Cartesian Robot offers full speed at long stroke.January 31, 2008 -
NXY Series Cartesian robots use nut rotation-type hollow shaft motor for x axis that drives ball nut directly with no restriction of whirling speed even when using long stroke. Robots offer 2,000 mm stroke, max speed of 1,200 mm/sec, and maximum payload of 25 kg. They feature resolver for positioning system, high performance guide, and rigid frame, making them resistant to environmental conditions. Double Y axes are available as standard.

New Concept in Cartesian Robots Offers Full Speed at Long Stroke
Yamaha's new NXY Series Cartesian robots are based on a new concept that allows full speed to be maintained at long stroke. These Cartesian robots use a nut rotation-type hollow shaft motor for the x axis. This new type driving axis for the base drives the ball nut directly with no restriction of the whirling speed even when using a long stroke. NXY Series robots offer a 2000 mm stroke/maximum speed 1200 mm/sec. and a maximum payload of 25 kg (XY 2 axes). These robots feature a highly reliable resolver for the positioning system, a high performance guide, and a rigid frame, making them extremely durable and resistant to environmental conditions.
Use of an NXY Series unit in combination with a double carrier provides a wide range of application possibilities. The built-in motor in the slider makes it possible to reduce dead space at the end of the stroke, ensuring lightweight and compactness even when using a long stroke. Because of the nut rotation-type structure, two Cartesian robots can be compactly incorporated in a system, resulting in lower cost, higher work efficiency, and space savings. Double Y axes are available as standard.
