Agilent Technologies Introduces Industry's Most Inert Capillary GC Columns for Challenging Active Analytes

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 30, 2008 - Agilent Technologies Inc., (NYSE: A) today introduced the industry's most inert family of capillary gas chromatography (GC) columns, the Agilent J&W Ultra Inert Capillary GC columns. The new columns are designed to consistently provide improved sensitivity, performance and integrity of analytical results when analyzing active compounds, trace-level samples and screening for unknown samples.

"We're raising the bar for consistent column inertness performance by QC testing every single column with a specially designed ber One test probe mixture, built on the already tightest industry QC specifications for column bleed, efficiency and selectivity," said Cikui Liang, Agilent GC Column product manager. "This testing goes a long way to ensure a successful analysis for challenging active analytes, providing more reliable results, more accurate peak identification and more accurate quantification. Our customers can be confident that they will get the right results the first time."

Agilent J&W Ultra Inert Capillary GC columns are well-suited for environmental, food/flavors/fragrances, forensics, pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals analyses.
The new columns offer:
o highest degree of column inertness;
o exceptionally low column bleed;
o improved peak shapes for active compounds;
o greater signal-to-noise ratios;
o minimum compound loss and degradation;
o extended column life and more instrument uptime; and
