Universal's Camera Registration for XLS Streamlines Cut-Path Positioning

Scottsdale, AZ, -- Universal Laser Systems announces the availability of their Camera Registration module for the XLS product family. Universal's Camera Registration (UCR) features a camera that determines the exact position of registration marks on printed materials inside the laser system and software that adjusts the predefined cut path to fit the material.

UCR works directly with most popular vector-based Windows® software, including Adobe Illustrator®, CorelDRAW® and AutoCAD®. Unlike other registration mark detection methods that require additional steps such a third-party plugin or template setup, UCR works directly with the robust XLS control software to quickly calculate the location of registration marks. Industry standard registration marks are accepted or UCR can easily learn new ones.

UCR compensates for any discrepancies in the printing process by automatically adjusting the cut path to fit the material where it is placed. Hit or miss attempts at lining up registration marks, along with wasting materials, are eliminated. UCR's capability to assist with cutting complex shapes at high speeds, regardless of material placement, simplifies material preparation and improves manufacturing workflow.
