SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – March 15, 2005 – IQinVision Inc., creators of the advanced IQeye family of smart network cameras announces the availability of IQevent, a self-contained camera and recording system. Utilizing the same commodity cards used by digital still cameras, the IQevent records up to 40,000 ultra high-resolution images without using bandwidth. PC/client software is not required, as the viewing and management of the video is all done in an ordinary web browser.
IQevent is ideal for franchisees, convenience stores, car dealerships, schools, banks and warehouses. With no back end recording system required, an IQevent system is simple to install and easy to maintain. Imagine a megapixel or multi-megapixel IP video system with no DVR or PC with recording software to worry about.
The PCcard standard format allows the recording cards to be removed and replaced easily. This feature provides an easy upgrade path, as well as the unique option of using ORIGINAL recordings as evidence. Support for the open file standard FAT32 and the open imaging standard JPEG allows the images stored on the cards to be read without special software in almost any laptop or a PC with a card slot.
The IQevent system works great standalone, and the camera can also be part of a traditional IP recording system. When used with an IP camera ready DVR or NVR system, the IQevent internal recording capabilities can backup or enhance the primary recording system with full multi-megapixel images recorded in the camera for easy retrieval after an incident.
All the benefits associated with the IQeye family of smart IP cameras are present in the IQevent products. LIGHTGRABBER provides excellent images in low light circumstances. Multi-megapixel IQeye cameras with wide field of view lenses are a better choice than mechanical PTZ camera in many applications, and in many cases a single IQevent can replace multiple fixed CCTV cameras.
