Stealth Aerial Cameras and Actua Systems Launch Innovative Camera System for Sports Broadcast

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 12 -- Stealth Aerial Cameras, LLC and Actua Systems Inc. announced the launch of a new camera positioning system for sports broadcast that enables unique shots never seen before. The integrated system, named Stealthscope(TM), debuted on TNT's NBA broadcast of the Phoenix Suns vs. Memphis Grizzlies on January 15th.

Stealthscope(TM) combines Stealth's proprietary camera stabilization system and Actua's PositionIt(TM) positioning system (formerly known as Ribbonlift), which can extend a camera up to 22 feet with a remarkably compact form factor utilizing a patented design that "zips" three steel ribbons together to form a rigid column. For arena events like TNT's NBA broadcast, the Stealthscope descends from inside the scoreboard, providing inspirational shots from as low as 10 feet above the court without interfering with game play or permanently obstructing sight lines. The system rapidly ascends when play movement requires. Stealthscope(TM) can also operate from the ground upward. Stealth's stabilization system allows for full camera control for both fixed and moving shots.

Chuck Ogilvie, Stealth's President, said, "The goal of the alliance between Stealth and Actua is to open up a whole new world of stunning shots for broadcasters and venues. The Stealthscope(TM) will allow our customers to achieve positions and angles never thought possible, while remaining unobtrusive, easy to install, and cost effective."

Tom Sahara, Senior Director of Remote Operations for TNT, said, "In TNT's endless search to find new and exciting views of the game, Stealthscope(TM) has opened up new possibilities. The fast and smooth movement coupled with the ease of installation enables TNT to place the camera in new locations. Stealthscope(TM) has also enabled us to achieve new and innovative camera shots from traditional camera locations as seen on the camera's debut on TNT's NBA coverage of the Phoenix Suns vs. Memphis Grizzlies game broadcast January 15th."

In addition Stealthscope's(TM) use in basketball, Stealth and Actua are deploying their system for hockey, baseball, football, boxing, auto racing, and a broad range of other sports and live events in the coming months. Stealthscope(TM) features will offer unparalleled camera shots for these applications as well.
