Ortronics Introduces Connect Complete Structured Cabling Systems for Multi-Dwelling Units

New London, CT - Ortronics is pleased to announce the launch of Connect complete structured cabling systems for multi-dwelling environments, such as apartments, townhouses and condos. The Ortronics Connect system provides a single point of management and distribution for all media, including voice, high speed data, audio/video entertainment, internet access, and security monitoring equipment. The modular structured cabling solution provides residents with whole-home networking and is very similar to Ortronics commercial offering, making it easy to install and maintain for contractors.

Connect is centered around a discreet, low profile enclosure that is available in 10", 20" and 36" heights and holds a wide range of single purpose and combination modules. The enclosure, which may be mounted between standard wall studs to be flush with the wall surface, is made from 16-gauge steel for maximum strength. It features a hinged door with key lock for security as well as easy accessibility. The base and door have a textured off-white finish that will resist scratches and is compatible with any décor. Cable management slots allow for versatility in organizing cables, and an electrical knockout is provided to accommodate AC requirements.

The Connect system also includes a comprehensive selection of panels to support voice, data, audio, and active and passive video, as well as blank and cable management panels. Connect panels are made of superior steel construction and provide total separation between installer and end-user access. Designed around the commercial building wiring standard, the Connect panels utilize industry standard mounting screws, are clearly labeled for ease of identification and feature 110 termination on the back of the panel.

Other components of the Connect system include a five-port 10Base-T hub with switchable uplink port, an eight-port 10/100Base-T switch and a broadband router with a four-port 10/100Base-T switch. Also available are in-wall speakers, impedance matching volume controls, a self-modulating camera, and a voice line splitter.

Ortronics offers a wide array of faceplates, outlets and modules to complete the Connect MDU solution. Ortronics Connect faceplates accommodate TracJack® modules to provide full flexibility for any combination of residential applications, including voice, data, audio, video, coax and fiber. TracJack snap-in modules offer labor savings, high quality, and enhanced performance and are front removable for easy moves, adds and changes. For a pre-configured faceplate solution, you can choose from our MDU outlets, which are supplied with Category 5e and coax connections to meet the TIA/EIA 570A Grade 1 and Grade 2 outlet specifications.
