Cable Seal Doubles Anti-Theft Protection for Containerized Cargo
Livingston, NJ - Transportation professionals who are responsible for the security of containerized cargo can now use a high security cable seal that is designed to thwart and avert cargo theft in two ways. Called the Keeper SeaLock cable seal, it is available from the Brooks Company of Livingston, NJ.
The Keeper SeaLock's two levels of deterrence first calls for sealing the container door hasp to block unauthorized personnel from opening the container door. Second, the Keeper SeaLock further protects cargo by preventing the keeper bars from separating, thereby precluding the container doors from being opened.
The Keeper SeaLock assembly is comprised of a 3/16" (5 mm) or 1/8" (3 mm) aircraft cable, which is unified on to a two-orifice lock-body. Replicating the installation of a classic cable seal, the Keeper SeaLock is installed by first threading its short cable end through the container door hasp and inserting it into one of the two orifices in the lock body. From the lock body, the longer cable end is then threaded behind then in front of the two middle keeper bars and re-inserted in the lock body's second opening.
Keeper SeaLock can be decorated with a 7 alphanumeric or consecutive numbers for accountability and tracking purposes. It installs in seconds and can only be removed by cutting two different areas of the cable using cable cutters.
