Samtec Introduces New PCI Express® Jumpers

Samtec has recently introduced its new PCI Express® Jumpers for PCIe applications requiring additional and/or semi-permanent electrical connections between PCIe slots and additional devices. The Jumpers can function as Loop Back Extenders (from one PCIe slot to another PCIe slot), as SerDes Extenders (from one PCIe slot to another PCIe SerDes), and as Physical Extenders for easy troubleshooting of a PCIe card. In addition, they may be used for debug and analysis (PCIe slot to Emulator and Analyzer).

Samtec's PCI Express® Jumpers are available with edge cards on both ends, or edge card/PCI Express® Jumpers are available with edge cards on both ends, or edge card/PCI Express® socket combinations, and support 1x, 4x, 8x, and 16x PCI Express® bus widths. Color-coded edge cards indicate pinout mapping for additional design ease.

The 30 AWG ribbon cable and 30 AWG Data Rate twinax ribbon cables are available in a choice of lengths from 095mm - 1015mm with an option for no power lines, creating a no connect condition at select positions.

Applications specific designs are available, and PCI Express® 2.0 is currently in testing.

Pricing varies by number of I/Os and length of cable.
