Cable Connector is optimized for facilitated assembly.
July 7, 2009 -
Featuring optimized cable exit angle, Han® Easy Hood is split vertically to facilitate access to connector wiring and accelerate complex cable assembly. Size of wiring chamber also aids in handling large AWG wire sizes or multiple wires. Wall thickness withstands stresses of heavy cables during shipping, storage, and use, while rounded edges and latching runners aid in pulling connectors through tight spaces. Insert and finished harness can be assembled while lying flat.

HARTING Han® Easy Hood
ELGIN, Ill. - Manual connector assembly can be costly and time consuming. The HARTING Han® Easy Hood is split vertically, allowing easy access to the connector wiring, making complex cable assembly faster, easier and cost efficient. The new Han® Easy Hood offers advanced features to benefit assembly while reducing applied cost.
Assembly advantages:
Enlarged wiring chamber makes handling large AWG wire sizes or many wires easier
Insert and finished harness can be assembled while lying flat
Han® inserts or Han-Modular® parts are held simply by attaching the cover
The cover is attached by 3 screws - a power screw driver may be used
Simple strain relief clamp is held by two screws - a power screw driver may be used
Inserts can be wired on harnesses and pre-tested prior to final assembly of the hood
Cable assembly time is reduced 15 to 20% (actual time study)
Other advantages:
Cable exit angle is optimized
Increased wall thickness withstands stresses of heavy cables during shipping, storage and use
Edges and latching runners are rounded to ease pulling of connectors thru tight spaces like cable ducts
The Han® Easy Hoods are offered in multiple sizes with standard grey finish or black finish for light and sound applications in the entertainment industry and with an EMC finish to meet highly shielded applications.
All HARTING products are supported and distributed from HARTING North America, Elgin, Illinois.
