7.9" Mixed Flow DC Fan from Comair Rotron Generates Significantly Higher Pressure for Efficient Cooling

San Diego, CA - Comair Rotron introduces the 7.9" Mixed Flow DC fan. Ideal for telecommunication applications and for cooling computer cabinets and racks, this fan is able to generate higher pressure than any other fan in the Comair Rotron product line. As cabinets and racks are being packed with more and more electrical equipment to deliver increased capabilities to the user, the resistance to airflow increases within the limited space surrounding the equipment. This airflow resistance significantly increases the requirement to efficiently cool the electrical equipment to eliminate overheating and equipment failure.

The compact Mixed Flow fan combines characteristics of fans and blowers to deliver increased pressure and airflow. Measuring 7.95" square by 3.50" deep (202 mm x 89 mm), the Mixed Flow weighs 4.6 lbs. (2.1 kg). A powerful and efficient cooling unit, the Mixed Flow delivers 375 CFM (175 L/s) and a static pressure of 1.5 inches (38 mm) of water, while generating minimal noise of 59.6 dBA.

Available with the Mixed Flow is Comair Rotron's patented ThermaPro-V(TM) technology. This technology automatically adjusts the airflow based on current temperature needs, minimizing power consumption and noise, and eliminating expensive circuit redesigns. Also available is an automatic restart feature to ensure operation will resume after power failure or overheating. In addition, a tachometer output can be incorporated to monitor performance and assure protection of essential components.

Additionally, when coated with Comair Rotron's patented EnviroShield(TM), the Mixed Flow can withstand degradation caused by harsh environmental conditions, moisture and salt, making it ideal for telecommunications applications.

Comair Rotron's Mixed Flow fan meets UL approval ratings and is polarity protected. Both the housing and the polypropylene impeller meet the UL 94V-0 flammability rating. The unit has an operating temperature range of –10 deg C to 70 deg C and runs at either the standard 24 VDC (nominal) or 48 VDC (nominal). The Mixed Flow is designed for continuous duty life of 50,000 hours at 40 deg C.

An ISO-9001 certified company, Comair Rotron is the leading supplier of standard and value-added fans, blowers, and AC motors for a broad range of markets, including telecommunications, medical, industrial, computer peripheral, automotive, and office equipment. Comair Rotron has set the worldwide standard for the design of forced air electronic component cooling devices. Their product lines are sold worldwide and include AC motors, AC and DC fans and blowers, cabinet blowers, and accessories. Since the company was founded, it has produced more than 100 million units for commerce and industry.
