GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms Releases Latest High Performance CNC at IMTS

Highly Reliable 0i-D Provides Excellent Cost to Performance Ratio

Chicago, IL, September 11, 2008 GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, announced the release of the 0i-D series, the latest in its line of high performance CNC systems, at IMTS 2008 being held in Chicago's McCormick Place, September 8 - 13. This new highly reliable CNC is the latest generation in the highly successful 0i family and provides customers with an excellent cost to performance ratio.

"The 0i-D sets a new standard for value and performance with features like nanometer interpolation as standard, a feature previously reserved for higher-priced CNC systems or as an expensive option in others," said Paul Webster, CNC Product Manager for GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms. "Nano interpolation ensures smooth machined surfaces by using a much finer resolution for position commands."

The 0i-D features an ultra compact design with high reliability utilizing limited cabling and easy maintenance. This CNC control is suitable for many machining applications - There are both Milling and turning version of the CNC - with the 0i-MD being capable of 5 axis and 2 spindles. The Turning version, 0i-TD, has 2-path control for up to 8 axis and 3 spindles. This network ready CNC has an embedded Ethernet port as standard and is available with an 8.4" or 10.4" LCD.

The new 0i-D comes with many programming and operation features already packaged into the system so there is no need for ordering special options. High-speed and high-precision machining using nano interpolations with AI contour control being optional. Integrated operation and program guidance is available with FANUC Manual Guide I, and Embedded Ethernet provides easy connectivity. The folder based program structure features easy interface and more memory than its predecessor. The CNC is fully customizable using FANUC Picture software. The 0i-D is also NCGuide compatible for easy development and training.

This value-oriented CNC is available with the all-in-one BiSVSP spindle/servo amplifier with Beta I series motors for the ultimate in compact-performance or the top-of-the-line Alpha I series for high-speed and accuracy. FANUC ECC, FSSB fiber optic servo bus and HRV3 servo control ensures performance and reliability.

The 0i-Mate-D, which is also provided in Milling and Turning versions, is value priced with 3 axis and 1 spindle capability. The full line-up of the series 0i-D will be seen at IMTS 2008 in booth A-8418.
