New Clausing/Colchester MultiTurn Low Cost CNC Lathes

The new low cost Clausing/Colchester MultiTurn 1000, with 13" swing x 25" center and MultiTurn 2000, with 15" swing x 50" center are the perfect machines for many of today's CNC turning applications. MultiTurn 3000 with 18" swing and MultiTurn 4000 with a 21" swing will be introduced later this year. The MultiTurn tool room lathe was developed to maintain a very low cost capital investment of a flat bed CNC lathe, while increasing the lathe's performance. The MultiTurn is ideal for CNC users looking for increased versatility at a low capital cost, first time CNC buyers looking for programming simplicity, job shops looking for increased productivity and education and training facilities needing a real lathe with step-by-step simplicity.

MultiTurn is the first CNC lathe in the world to use the latest G.E. Fanuc OiTB digital control package. The advanced control package breaks ground in terms of reliability and performance and features a 8.4" color TFT flat screen monitor, 'Manual Guide' on-screen conversational programming assist, twin electronic handwheels for manual operation, on-screen ISO, DNC or CAD/CAM programming, wide range of turning cycles and all Fanuc digital drives and motors.

The heavy-duty cast iron machine is engineered for maximum CNC performance. The flat bed configuration means the MultiTurn is equally capable of long production runs, short runs, turning bar stock and with the gap removed, large diameter faceplate work. The machine is equipped with a powerful 10 hp spindle drive motor, three automatic spindle speed ranges, with spindle speeds of 20 to 3500 rpm on the MultiTurn 1000 and 15 to 2700 rpm on the MultiTurn 2000, hardened and ground bedways, Gamet spindle bearings, and a fully automatic lubrication system. A wide range of optional equipment is available including an automatic 8 station bi-directional indexing disc turret.

The MultiTurn is built to ISO 2001 standards with the quality, precision and reliability that Clausing,/Colchester lathes are known for.
