Drake Introduces New 3-Axis CNC Vertical Bore Grinder
WARREN, OHIO—Drake Manufacturing’s new Model GS:I-V Vertical Bore Grinder was developed for high production bore grinding applications with families of parts - as well as small batch processing. The machine’s vertical design minimizes floor space, simplifies manual or automatic loading, and is easily integrated into a manufacturing cell environment. Its footprint is only 48” wide x 72” deep.
The GS:I-V features a cast polymer base that provides outstanding rigidity and excellent dampening capabilities to maximize grinding accuracy and minimize cycle times. Precision-balanced high frequency spindles are available from 30,000 to 90,000 rpm. The GS:I-V is also equipped with a rotary diamond contour dresser, Drake’s Smart-Spindle™ acoustic touch dress monitoring system, the latest CNC taper correction, and newest Fanuc CNC control optimized to run customer parts.
In standard machine configuration, maximum part diameter is 10”. Maximum part length is 4”.
