July 7, 2010 - Model LS4k is SoC sensor that combines reconfigurable 4k pixel line with high-responsivity, low-noise photodiodes; high-accuracy, high-speed A/D conversion; and image-processor for real-time optical correction. Flexible control allows reconfiguration of line size via sub-sampling, windowing, and binning reaching up to 70,000 lines/sec for 0.5k-pixel resolution. Unit also has combined ultra-low noise pixel and readout channel that results in maximum-quality images with dynamic range of 65 dB.

ANAFOCUS Launches Off-the-Shelf CMOS SoC Line-Scan Image Sensor for Machine Vision

SEVILLE, SPAIN - AnaFocus a Spanish company specialized in the design and production of smart image sensors for industrial and scientific applications announces the commercialization of CMOS SoC line-scan image sensor. The device was first presented at the Imaging Sensing Show (ISS) 2010 trade-show in Yokohama.

The new LS4k announced today consists of a SoC line-scan image sensor combining re-configurable 4k pixel line with high-responsivity low-noise advanced photodiodes, high-accuracy and high-speed analog-to-digital conversion, and sophisticated image-processor for real-time optical correction. The LS4k includes flexible control allowing easy re-configuration of line size via sub-sampling, windowing, and binning reaching up to 70,000 lines-per-second for 0.5k-pixel resolution. Exposure time, gain, offset, and several other image-processing features are controllable via serial port.

A unique feature of the LS4k is the combination ultra-low noise pixel and readout channel resulting in maximum-quality images with dynamic range of 65dB and advanced on-chip optical correction (DSNU, PRNU, and lens-shading) simplifying the development of line-scan camera to LS4k users.

The company JAI Ltd, a leading provider of high-performance camera systems, recently announced their choice of AnaFocus' LS4K device for new generation line scan camera based on 3CMOS technology, used worldwide in machine vision applications.
