CAE Software is finite element method-based.October 2, 2007 -
Flux v10.1 allows analysis and design of electromagnetic and electromechanical devices, applications, and processes. Software is combination of Java and Python programming languages and each interface command has corresponding scripting command equivalent. Command window allows review of elapsed commands, which can then be recorded or programmed as text files. It also features hybrid mesh generator, fully coupled circuit co-simulation, and parameter-based constructs.

Flux, a Design Foundation for the Future
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y., Sept. 21 / / -- Magsoft Corporation announces the release of Flux Version 10.1. Flux tools are Finite Element Method (FEM) based CAE software developed by Cedrat of Grenoble, France. Flux is used for the analysis and design of electromagnetic and electromechanical devices, applications, and processes.
Flux V10.1 is built upon a new foundation. The technology is a combination of java and python programming languages; each interface command has a corresponding scripting command equivalent. A command window allows users to review elapsed commands, and these commands can be either recorded or programmed into a simple text file format. Subsequent re-use of a given process is straight-forward and can be configured into Flux as a pull-down macro in the Toolbar. Further sophistication can extend this capability into the creation of libraries of components, customized user objects or even application overlays.
The core technology of Flux which has pioneered the CAE industry for years is now seamlessly at the users' fingertips. Flux boasts the industries only:
o Hybrid mesh generator. Users can utilize a variety of mesh types
throughout their model in order to reduce computation time while
maintaining computational accuracy
o Fully coupled circuit co-simulation. Allowing users to review a truly
coupled multi-physics simulation solution combining electrical,
electromagnetic and mechanical physics
o Parameter-based constructs. All geometry, mesh and material property
constructs can be created by the user with the use of parameters or
with sophisticated parameter expressions
According to Tan Pham, Technical Director at Magsoft, "The new Flux technology makes the design process more efficient and the designer more effective. On the pre-processing side, users can construct a library of parameterized components which can be readily modified to construct new design ideas. On the post-processing side, users can construct a library of lab tests which can be re-used to provide the same outputs in the same formats for easy design review. It is really exciting to imagine the innovation possibilities."
