ModelPress Desktop views 3D CAD assembly files and allows visualization of cross sections, cutaways, exploded views, and dimensioning/measurement. Users can identify/locate parts visually by name and show part volume, mass, center, and other attributes. Supported formats include AutoCAD 3D DWF/DWG/DXF, Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, IGES, STL, VRML, OpenHSF, XGL, SAT, 3DS, and content secure 3DF format. Pro/E, Wildfire, and Step formats are offered via ModelPress Granite option.

Easy-to-Use $99 ModelPress Desktop 3D Viewer Now Shipping
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - November 29, 2005 Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in content visualization, secure publishing and collaboration technology, announced that its new ModelPress Desktop is now shipping. ModelPress Desktop is a low cost application that views a variety of 3D file formats in a common, easy-to-use interface. Supported formats include AutoCAD 3D DWF/DWG/DXF, Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, IGES, STL, VRML, OpenHSF, XGL, SAT, 3DS and IGC's content secure 3DF format. Pro/E, Wildfire and Step formats are provided via the ModelPress Granite option.
ModelPress Desktop increases the format support offered by IGC's very popular ModelPress Reader, a free 3D viewer to view STL, VRML, HSF and 3DF file formats. 3DF files can be created by the free ModelPress Publisher. All three products are available for download/purchase at: www.modelpress.com.

ModelPress Desktop provides controls for interactive conversion of 3D models to IGC's Visual Rights-protected 3DF format and is able to publish portions of the model assembly with cutaways and dimension markups or as exploded view representations.
The benefits of distributing CAD designs as 3DF files include persistent file security, smaller file size, content expiration controls, copyright banner options and the ability to restrict functions such as measure, explode and cross section.
ModelPress Desktop is available for 15 day trial download from the www.modelpress.com web site. The pricing for ModelPress Desktop is $99/license and the Granite version is $195/license.
