Bray High Performance Butterfly Valves Now Feature Blow-Out Proof Stem

Houston, TX -November 30, 2005- Bray Controls is proud to announce that they have designed a blow-out proof stem for Bray High Performance Series 40 Butterfly Valves. The new stem will become the standard on all Series 40 valves, replacing the old stem design. With the new stem design, the Series 40 is in compliance with the latest edition of the API 609 code for high performance butterfly valves.

Bray's Series 40 valves are recognized for their outstanding performance in over 30 years of successful service in process industries worldwide. The Series 40's unique patented design received Chemical Processing's Vaaler Award for Best Product shortly after it was introduced. The innovative design offers rugged reliability and extremely easy maintenance in the field. Independent and internal tests have proven Bray's superior service life in bubble-tight shut-off conditions.

Available in both wafer and lug style bodies, these high-performance valves offer proven bi-directional sealing to full ANSI Class 150, 300 or 600 ratings. Series 40 fire-safe models conform to API 607 latest edition and offer reliable control of flammable and hazardous fluids in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and other high-risk applications.

Standard Series 40 body materials are either carbon steel or stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. A high-strength 17-4 PH Stainless Steel valve stem is standard. The actuator mounting flange and stem connection are designed to ISO 5211 for direct mounting of Bray actuators. The disc has been engineered to maximize flow and minimize resistance, providing a high Cv. 316 Stainless Steel is standard. Many additional body, stem and disc materials are available. An internal travel stop has been designed to prevent over travel of the disc, minimizing possible seat damage, therefore extending the service life of the seat.

The Series 40 high-performance butterfly valve offers greatly reduced weight and space requirements over comparably rated plug, globe, gate, ball and diaphragm valves. The cost savings of installation and maintenance are substantial.

Bray's pneumatic and electric actuators fully compliment the Series 40 and directly mount without the need for large brackets or adapters. Bray has designed the most advanced, highest quality line of actuators and Brayline accessories available today.

Bray International, Inc., headquartered in Houston, is a leader and innovator in process control automation, with worldwide manufacturing and distribution facilities.
