Asempra Technologies Introduces Real-Time and Granular Protection in New Release of CDP Solution

Asempra Business Continuity Server 2.0 to provide customers with real-time and granular recovery, raising the bar for data management solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif., and Storage Decisions, NEW YORK, Sept. 27 // - Asempra Technologies, a pioneer in the development and implementation of enterprise-level data protection and recovery management solutions, announced the availability of the Asempra Business Continuity Server(TM) Version 2.0 with Real-Time protection, Granular and On-Demand recovery for Microsoft Exchange. These two new features enhance the capabilities of the industry leading Asempra BCS, a real-time recovery management solution.

The Asempra Business Continuity Server(TM) (BCS), which was introduced to the marketplace in September 2005, delivers recovery management software that dramatically improves application continuity. Asempra provides application data recovery time in minutes, regardless of data set size, through patented on-demand data recovery. The Granular and Real-time Recovery features enable companies to move from traditional point-in-time data recovery to real-time recovery of any type of Exchange object. Asempra's granular recovery allows IT organizations to recover any type of Microsoft Exchange object like an individual email, contact, or full user inbox without taking Microsoft Exchange offline. The real-time feature enables IT and Microsoft Exchange administrators to protect and recover Exchange to any second in time as opposed to the last snapshot or last incremental backup.

"On-demand recovery management has become a 'must have' for IT managers," said Marty Ward, vice president of products and marketing, Asempra Technologies. "It is imperative for corporations to keep applications up and available at all times. The Asempra BCS and the two new features announced today ensure that enterprise customers can recover any Microsoft Exchange data, regardless of size or type, instantly."

The Asempra BCS is an application-aware recovery management platform that dramatically improves application continuity by providing on-demand recovery of data. Implementing an Asempra BCS solution assures data integrity at every point-in-time, eliminates backup windows, works as efficiently over WANs as LANs and simplifies company's data protection infrastructure.

"Asempra's BCS takes the pain out of IT data failure management," said Siew Sim, chief technology officer and co-founder, Asempra Technologies. "The Asempra BCS addresses data recovery through an architecture approach, regardless of failure type, using only standard Microsoft API's."

The Asempra BCS combines data protection and disaster recovery for Microsoft Exchange, any Windows file server application, and SQL database applications. Integration with existing tape backup systems is provided through a standard interface for tape archival products including Veritas NetBackup, Legato NetWorker, and Tivoli Storage Manager to fully utilize existing software to store data to tape.

The Asempra BCS 2.0 is available immediately directly from Asempra Technologies. For more information, please visit asempra.com or call 408.215.5800.
