WAGO Introduces Space-Saving CC-Link Compatible Buscoupler

Germantown, WI, February 2003-WAGO announces the latest addition to the WAGO I/O SYSTEM, the CC-Link Buscoupler, part number 750-310. For applications that currently utilize the CC-Link network or even those considering using this field network system, the WAGO CC-Link buscoupler is a slave device that allows easy connection of high density digital, analog and special function (counter, serial, PWM, temperature, and encoder modules) I/O to the system.

"By adding this buscoupler to the I/O SYSTEM line of products, WAGO continues to offer flexible, cost effective solutions for device-level, open networks," explains Charles Cook, Technical Manager at WAGO Corporation, Germantown, WI. "Another important aspect is that this coupler ensures a reliable connection of high density I/O that customers are demanding.

The CC-Link Buscoupler utilizes two selector switches to easily address the node. A third selector switch is used to set five different baud rates (156 Kbps, 625 Kbps, 2.5 Mbps, 5Mbps, and 10 Mbps) and two address modes (fixed address mode and auto address mode). In the fixed address mode the coupler can be pre-configured to use up to 4 addresses from CC-Link regardless of how many I/O modules are connected to the coupler. In auto address mode, the coupler determines the number addresses to assign to the node based on the number of I/O modules connected to the coupler (1-4 address per node). This feature allows effective utilization of the amount of data being transmitted (per node) on the CC-Link network.

As with all couplers in the WAGO I/O System family, the supply voltage (24 Vdc) is distributed automatically to the I/O modules via the Power Jumper Contact System and the data is automatically connected via the Data Contact System. In addition, the CC-Link coupler offers connection of up to 64 I/O modules, maximum bus line distance of up to 1200 Meter, transmission speed of up to 10 Mpbs, maximum I/O process image of 14 bytes digital (2 byte system) or 32 bytes analog and is connected via a 9 PIN D-sub to the bus line (twisted pair).

WAGO is the worldwide leader in spring pressure termination technology. Since it was formed in 1951, WAGO's core business has been the design, manufacture and marketing of an increasingly wide range of highly innovative terminal blocks and connectors featuring the company's unique Cage-Clamp connection technology. WAGO also specializes in DIN rail mounted fieldbus independent I/O systems, custom electronics and factory automation products.
