TALON® Building Controls by Siemens Offers Integrators Ultimate Flexibility

Siemens Solution Partners to deliver powerful, precise building automation systems nationwide

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Sept. 2 -- To expand the capabilities of its independent controls contractor channel, Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. is introducing a new version of TALON building automation based on the versatile, open BACnet protocol. With BACnet, TALON controls offer advanced integration capabilities and a comprehensive set of tools to ease the design, installation and commissioning that today's building controls contractors need to tackle the most sophisticated projects profitably.

Building controls contractors' role as building automation system integrators is growing more prominent everyday. As the projects they win grow more complex, so does their need for reliable access to flexible control technologies and relevant technical information. To help meet these critical demands, the TALON brand is available through the company's nationwide network of Siemens Solutions Partners -- independent integrators and controls contractors formerly known as Staefa dealers.

For years, TALON dealers have offered the LonTalk protocol. Now with BACnet, contractors and integrators have even more flexibility to more effectively meet building owner and consulting engineer requirements. Key to TALON's versatility is the broad array of integration drivers that enable precise HVAC system management as well as tightly integrated control of security, fire and lighting systems and building operator-friendly management capabilities. These features are designed to optimize building owners' investments and allow greater owner control and management of their systems.

With open architecture based on BACnet or LonTalk protocols and advanced tools that ensure precise control schemes and trouble-free system implementation, TALON building automation provides integrators with ultimate flexibility and the tools they need to keep projects on schedule and in the black. Physical barriers to system implementation are also virtually eliminated now that Siemens offers a wireless controller for TALON. Enabled by Siemens' proven mesh network technology, TALON wireless can improve a building operator's return on retrofit investment, fulfill new tenant needs and enable new levels of building operating efficiency and energy management in either as-built, or new construction environments.
