IDT Introduces World's First PCI Express® Gen3 Family of Timing Devices

New Buffers and Synthesizers Designed to Improve Performance and Save Board Space in Servers, Embedded and Communication Systems

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced a new family of buffers and synthesizers - the first to be fully compliant with the PCI Express® (PCIe®) Gen3 specification. This new family of timing devices meets all of the requirements for the PCIe Gen3 reference clock phase jitter specification, enabling the development of higher-throughput systems for the server, embedded and communications markets.

The IDT family of PCIe Gen3 buffers and synthesizers is available from two to 19 output pairs, providing customers with the option to choose the properly sized device for their system. In addition, many of the devices are pin-compatible upgrades to existing IDT PCIe Gen2 timing devices, enabling customers to easily upgrade their Gen2 systems.

"IDT is committed to providing our customers with innovative products that not only improve their system performance, but also help them improve their time to market. By being the first to bring PCIe Gen3 timing devices to market, our customers can be proactive in designing their next-generation systems," said Ram Iyer, vice president and general manager of the Computing and Multimedia division at IDT. "This robust family of IDT timing devices also provides customers with multiple size options, saving them design time and board space."

The new family of IDT PCIe Gen3 timing devices also features fanout buffers with an integrated 2:1 input mux, allowing the devices to select between two different input clocks. In addition, members of the new IDT family of timing devices feature selectable SMBus addresses, allowing multiple devices to share the same SMBus segment without extra components. The result of these features is improved system performance and a reduction in component board space.

Pricing and Availability
The IDT PCIe Gen3 buffers (9DB233, 9DB433, 9DB633, 9DB833, 9DB1233, 9DB1933) are currently sampling to qualified customers. The prices for these devices range from $1.38 to $3.10 for 10,000 unit quantities. The IDT PCIe Gen3 buffers with integrated 2:1 input mux (9EX21831 and 9EX21531) are currently sampling to qualified customers. The price for these devices ranges from $3.41 to $3.85 for 10,000 unit quantities. The IDT PCIe Gen3 synthesizers (9FG430 and 9FG830) are currently sampling to qualified customers.
