Maxon's New EC 25 High Speed Brushless Motor: Fast, and Still Incredibly Smooth Running

As an addition to the topmost performance range of EC motors, maxon motor launches its EC 25 High Speed - a speed-optimized and, at the same time, small-sized 250 W drive.

The EC 25 High Speed stands out with its friction-reduced and low-vibration optimized operation. Its rotor is equipped with preloaded ball bearings and a two-pole Neodymium permanent magnet. In conjunction with low-loss in high speeds optimized winding, the particularly for the applications' requirements optimized magnetic return and specially accurate dynamic balancing make the motor a real power pack in a class of its own.

Dimensions of only ∅25 x 84 mm and outstanding specific values (nominal torque 42.2 mNm, nominal speed 61600 rpm, efficiency above 93%, speed/torque gradient 44.9 rpm/mNm) make the motor particularly suitable for high speed spindle-driven applications, as required in medical technology (surgical power tools, dental drills, etc.) or machine tools (manufacture of optical lenses, fabrication of printed circuit boards, etc.).

For fast-rotating applications, a friction-reduced, low-vibration operation over the entire speed range is of vital importance. This can only be achieved with high-precision balancing and (in this case) preloaded ball bearings.
