March 18, 2013 - With 100–400 A input flexibility, Breaker Universal Safety System is highly configurable, allowing up to fourteen 1,000 Vdc 100% rated circuit breakers that provide over current protection along with NEC 2011 compliant individual disconnects and zone current monitoring. Common output BUSSbar connects to virtually any inverter input bus bar. Available in both grounded and ungrounded versions, BUSS allows PV designers to standardize on PV designs independently of DC inputs in inverter.

Bentek Solar is Now Shipping Its New 1000VDC Utility-Scale BUSS


SAN JOSE, CA  — Bentek Solar, a leading designer and manufacturer of PV products connecting PV panels to inverters worldwide for the commercial and utility-scale marketplaces, announces that it has begun shipping its new Breaker Universal Safety System (BUSS).

Six customer requirements — One Solution: The Bentek BUSS
1) Circuit Breaker Over Current Protection (OCP)
2) NEC 2011 690.16 disconnect compliance
3) RS485 and Ethernet Current Monitoring
4) Up to 14 inputs with 1 common BUSS bar output
5) 100A-400A input flexibility
6) Inverter BUSSbar Interface (IBI)

The new Bentek BUSS is designed to work with almost any inverter. It is highly configurable, allowing up to 14 1000VDC 100 percent rated circuit breakers that provide over current protection along with NEC 2011 compliant individual disconnects and zone current monitoring. The common output BUSSbar connects to virtually any inverter input bus bar. The BUSS allows PV designers to standardize on PV designs independently of the DC inputs in the inverter. The new Bentek BUSS product comes in both grounded and ungrounded versions.
