New Pyro-Paint 634-BN Hi-Temp Boron Nitride Coating Now Available

SUMMARY
Pyro-Paint™ 634-BN, a new high temperature, non-wetting, boron nitride filled coating developed bv Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to protect metal and refractory surfaces from corrosion by molten glasses, metals, plastics and salts in applications to 1560 °F (850 °C).

FEATURES
Pyro-Paint™ 634-BN is a single part, odorless, water-dispersible, boron nitride filled, high temperature coating, formulated to resist molten metals, glasses, plastics and salts in applications to 1560 °F (850 04C). It is particularly effective in resisting non-ferrous metals such as molten aluminum and magnesium.

Pyro-Paint™ 634-BN is most frequently applied to metal and refractory foundry structures such as crucibles, ladles and troughs. It provides a highly lubricious and chemically and erosion resistant interface between a molten material and the underlying metal or refractory structure, resulting in increased system life.

Pyro-Paint™ 634-BN is a simple to use, environmentally friendly, water-based formulation containing no volatile organic compounds. It is formulated with a solids content of 46.4% by weight, resulting in a dry film of greater than 95% boron nitride and a coverage rate of 800 ft˛/gal assuming a lmil dry film thickness. It is easy to apply with a brush, roller or conventional spray equipment; it dries at room temperature in 1-2 hours and cures fully in 1-2 hours at 200°F. Cleanup of uncured material is accomplished easily with warm water and soap.

Pyro-Paint™ 634-BN is part of a line of refractory coatings based on ceramic fillers including alumino-silicate, carbon, graphite, silicon carbide, yttrium oxide, and zirconium oxide. For complete details about the Pyro-Paint™ series of products, please contact Aremco's Technical Sales Department.
