Parlec Introduces New Precision Finish Boring Head

Rochester, NY, - Parlec Inc., a worldwide leader in tooling and presetting solutions, announces the official release of its new Precision Finish Boring Head. Parlec's Modular Boring System has enjoyed wide success throughout North America. The re-designed Precision Finish Boring Head will help reduce set-up time and increase productivity.

"It's exciting to introduce the first precision modular boring system that can deliver the coolant flow directly to the cutting edge," said, Dave Hartman, Product Manager of Rotating Tools, at Parlec, Inc. "Even changing the insert holder geometry does not effect the coolant flow."

Parlec's lightweight, well balanced Precision Finish Bore includes a Vernier scale to make .0001'' incremental adjustments easy. To increase efficiency and minimize setting errors, the precision finish head eliminates movement between the lock and unlock positions and includes a micrometer spindle that provides .001'' (.02mm) per dial graduation. Unique to the Parlec system, the coolant-through design places the spray directly on the cutting edge instead of ahead of it, resulting in better performance and increased insert life. All precision finish boring heads offer extended reach insert holders that allow a limited number of heads to do the full product range.
