Applied Data Systems Announces Availability of Windows CE 3.0 and Windows CE .NET Board Support Packages for Embedded Applications on ADS’ StrongARM® and PXA 250 Products

Columbia, Maryland (May 23 2002) - - Applied Data Systems (ADS), a leading developer of application-ready RISC-based embedded systems, is pleased to announce the current availability of
Windows CE 3.0 and Windows CE .NET Board Support Packages (BSP) for several signature StrongARM products and upcoming availability for PXA250 (XScale) products in Q2 02.

Packages currently available include the full BSP for ADS' most popular StrongARM-based products, the Graphics Master, the Bitsy and the Graphics Client Plus. The BSP package includes binary files, customer-specific source code, Windows CE kernel with Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) components, sample code, device driver specifications, regular updates, and documentation on how to build Windows CE operating system images.

"OEMs are under increased pressure to quickly deliver their next-generation Windows Powered smart devices to market," said Keith White, senior director of marketing for the Embedded and Appliance Platforms Group at Microsoft Corp. "ADS' new Board Support Packages for StrongArm and XScale will enable OEMs to more quickly and easily deliver innovative Windows CE-based small footprint mobile devices that take advantage of the latest silicon technology."

The BSP option is available with the purchase of a Windows CE development system on ADS' Graphics Client Plus, Bitsy and Graphics Master StrongARM-based products. To receive the BSP,
recipients are required to sign a license agreement with ADS. The BSP will be available with ADS' PXA250 family of products, to be released in Q202. All of these products and BSPs will be available with Microsoft's CE.NET. For more information, please see www.applieddata.net
