Atlas™ SpinTite® Blind Threaded Inserts Enable Attachment Where Only One Side Is Accessible

DANBORO, PA, July 8, 2003 – Atlas™ SpinTite® blind threaded inserts are designed for use in “blind” attachment applications, where only one side of a workpiece is accessible for fastener installation and final component assembly. These aluminum, brass, steel and stainless steel threaded inserts can serve as a practical alternative to tapped holes, weld nuts, rivets, and self-drilling or tapping screws.

Installed from the accessible “front” side of a workpiece, Atlas SpinTite blind threaded inserts can be utilized in panels as thin as .020”/0.51mm. Their use eliminates any need for additional hardware beyond a mating screw to complete final component assembly. They can be installed permanently anywhere and at any stage in the shop or field utilizing a hand-held portable tool.

Atlas SpinTite inserts will satisfy most “blind” applications where permanently installed threads are required. Types include half-hex shank low-profile head, rib-wall minimized-profile head, rib-wall low-profile head, thin-wall low-profile head, and swaging low-profile head. Available unified and metric thread sizes range from #6-32 to 1/2”-16 and M4 through M10.

These fasteners can satisfy countless attachment applications ranging from aircraft seat trays and automobile mirrors to electronics cabinetry hardware and appliance hinges, as well as closed-structure materials with minimum backside clearance, such as hydroformed tubing.
