June 8, 2010 - Formulated for refractory and metal surfaces, jet-black, water-dispersed, HiE-Coat (TM)840-CM demonstrates emissivity greater than 0.90 at temperatures to 2,500F. Coating is applied using sponge brush, roller, or conventional spray equipment, and offers coverage rate of 250 sq ft/gal with 2 mil dry film thickness. Curing is accomplished in operation or by heating for 1-2 hr at 200F plus 1 hr at 500F. Eco-friendly coating has no odor, cleans up with water, and contains no VOCs.

SUMMARY HiE-Coat(TM) 840-CM, a new high temperature, blackbody coating developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to improve the emissivity of refractory and metal substrates in applications to 2500F (1371C).

FEATURES

HiE-Coat(TM) 840-CM, a jet-black, water-dispersed, ceramic coating developed by Aremco Products, Inc., demonstrates an emissivity greater than 0.90 at temperatures to 2500 F (1371C). The emissivity of a material can range from 0.00 to 1.00; a high emissivity material will absorb (rather than reflect or transmit) and very effectively re-radiate infrared energy. High temperature gas burners and combustion chambers used in commercial and consumer appliances and industrial ovens and furnaces coated with high emissivity coatings are more energy efficient and able to distribute heat more uniformly.

HiE-Coat(TM) 840-CM has been formulated specifically for both refractory and metal surfaces and is applied easily using a sponge brush, roller or conventional spray equipment. The coverage rate is approximately 250 ft/gallon based a two mil dry film thickness. Curing is accomplished in operation or by heating for 1-2 hours at 200F plus 1 at 500F. HiE-Coat(TM) 840-CM is a user and environmentally friendly product. It has a no odor, cleans up with water and contains no volatile organic compounds.
