November 30, 2010 - Designed to integrate new and existing Modbus/RTU and Modbus/ASCII serial devices to TCP/IP network-based devices, EKI-1200 Series offers solution for automation industries seeking remote management and data accessibility for devices that cannot connect to network. Models EKI-1221, EKI-1222, and EKI-1224 are available with 1, 2, or 4 serial ports, respectively, and support 31 slaves per port. Additionally, gateways support up to 16 connections and 32 requests simultaneously.

Gateway Series Establishes Industrial Device Communication


Pittsford, NY, USA: L-Tron Corporation, a respected provider of industrial automation solutions, introduces the latest line of bi-directional Modbus gateways, designed to integrate new and existing Modbus/RTU and Modbus/ASCII serial devices to newer TCP/IP network-based devices. L-Tron's partner, the Industrial Automation Group of Advantech, created the EKI-1200 series as a cost-effective solution for automation industries seeking remote management and data accessibility for devices that cannot connect to a network.

The EKI-1200 series allows master-slave communication between devices for applications such as data transfer and device programming and monitoring. The EKI-1221, 1222, and 1224 gateways are available respectively with one, two, or four serial ports, and support 31 slaves per port. Additionally, these gateways are capable of supporting up to 16 connections and 32 requests simultaneously. Featuring two independent Ethernet ports and MAC addresses, the EKI-1200 series is an excellent solution for industrial manufacturing, as Ethernet networking reliability is guaranteed and device connections have never been simpler.
