Belt Scale provides continuous weighing.

Press Release Summary:

Offering ±1.0% accuracy, modular Milltronics MBS provides dynamic weighing information for process indication. It features parallelogram-style, aluminum strain gauge load cells to provide instant response to vertical loading. Suited for aggregates, sand, gravel, or crushed stone, scale is unaffected by horizontal forces, uneven belt loading, or high belt speeds. It does not have cross-bridge, which minimizes material build-up and allows universal fit on most conveyor widths.

New Economical Siemens Belt Scale Provides Continuous Weighing Reliability

ATLANTA, Feb. 7, 2007 - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. today announced the launch of the Siemens Milltronics brand MBS belt scale, a reliable and economical belt scale, which provides dynamic weighing information for process indication. A basic, modular, medium-duty belt scale ideally suited for applications involving aggregates, sand, gravel, or crushed stone, the Milltronics MBS product provides dependable continuous weighing at minimal cost.

Designed with an accuracy of ±1.0 percent, the Milltronics MBS features high performance parallelogram-style aluminum, strain gauge load cells to provide instant response to vertical loading. Horizontal forces such as belt drag or idler friction will not affect the belt scales accuracy. Additionally, it is not affected by uneven belt loading or high belt speeds. The load cells are durable with load cell overload protection, which is factory set at 150 percent of load cell rated capacity.

This new belt scale does not have a cross-bridge, which reduces material build-up and allows universal fit on most conveyor widths. In addition, the MBS can be moved easily from one conveyor to another. Simple to install with only 4 bolts, the MBS minimizes downtime, as there is no assembly of weighing modules required.

When combined with a Milltronics brand BW100 integrator and a Milltronics brand TASS speed sensor, Siemens provides a dependable and economical belt scale package. The Milltronics BW100 offers indication of flow rate, totalized weight, belt loading and belt speed for process control, as well as programmable analog output and one programmable relay contact. The patented electronic load cell-balancing feature makes the BW100 a world leader in belt scale system accuracy. The Siemens Milltronics TASS is a compact, low-profile, wheel-driven return belt speed sensor. All of these units are designed to withstand the sustained rigors of heavy primary industries.
