No. 992 is an electrically-heated, 500ºF (~260ºC) two-zone belt conveyor oven from Grieve, currently used for drying and curing ceramic cement at the customer's facility. 48 KW (24 KW per zone) are installed in Nichrome wire elements to heat the oven chamber, while 4000 CFM (2000 CFM in each zone) are provided by two 2-HP recirculating blowers with vertical downward airflow to the workload.

Each of the two work zones in this belt conveyor oven consists of a 2' long insulated, unheated entrance vestibule; 4' long insulated heat zone with recirculating airflow; 2' long insulated, unheated exit vestibule; 1' long open zone; 5' long cooling zone and 1' long open belt loading and unloading zone.

The conveyor belt on No. 992 is 30" wide, 1" x 1" high carbon steel flat wire, powered by a 1/3-HP motor drive, variable from 0.5 to 10 ipm. Also onboard this oven are two 16" diameter tubeaxial fans, each driven by a 3/4-HP motor to push/pull air through the cooling zones.
