Original Press Release:

Inpro/Seal Bearing Isolators Available for Installation on Growing Number of Motor Applications

ROCK ISLAND, IL, August 5, 2002 --- Inpro/Seal® VBX(TM) Bearing Isolators, previously available only on IEEE 841 electric motors are available for installation on a growing number of premium efficiency severe duty electric motors, including new and rebuilt.

This availability gives end users several choices to enhance the reliability and performance of their electric motors, including:

o order an IEEE 841 motor (an Inpro/Seal VBX(TM) is standard equipment)
o retrofit a premium efficiency severe duty electric motor
o specify Inpro/Seal Bearing Isolators on a new or replacement motor
o request Inpro/Seal as part of a rebuild or repair

According to David C. Orlowski, President of Inpro/Seal, the holder of some 40 patents and considered by many as the "father" of bearing isolation technology, "When it comes to a failed motor, the expense of the repair or replacement is, in reality, a minor cost. With process industry downtime running as high as $80,000 per hour, the real cost is in the downtime, labor, loss of production and disruption of production schedules."

Orlowski concluded, "Protect your bearings and you'll save your motors - it's as simple as that. Once installed, bearing isolators have proven to eliminate the root cause of motor failure - moisture, dirt and abrasives contaminating the bearing environment."

Motor manufacturers offering bearing isolators include: Reliance, General Electric, US-Emerson, Baldor, Marathon, Siemens, Toshiba, Teco-Westinghouse, Lincoln, ABB, Tatung, Leeson, Brook-Hanson and others.
