Laird Technologies Releases New 3.5 GHz Vertically-Polarized 120° Sector Base Station Antenna for WiMax

High-Performance, Compact Antenna Operates in the 3.4 - 3.7GHz Frequency Band

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - September 30, 2008 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design of customized, performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced its new 3.5GHz Vertically-Polarized 120-Degree Sector Base Station Antenna for WiMax. Utilizing state-of-the-art design tools, the new base station antenna is fully compliant with ETSI pattern specifications.

This new high-performance antenna operates across the 3.4 - 3.7GHz frequency band. The antenna's maximum null fill below the horizon ensures uniform energy distribution to each user within each cell.

The WiMax base station includes a patented beam shaper that reduces sidelobe interference, as well as extremely low front-to-side and front-to-back ratios, resulting in a precise antenna pattern that minimizes interference and provides a cleaner signal. The antenna also offers high-strength UV-stable radome and rugged carrier-class construction, making it ideal for large carrier-class deployments.

Laird Technologies' 3.5 GHz Vertically Polarized 120-Degree Sector Base Station Antenna is perfect for any carrier or broadband wireless access (BWA) supplier deploying WiMax. The highly predictable pattern and consistent performance is ideal for operators deploying WiMax, broadband wireless access, and WISP markets.

"Laird Technologies continues to provide the best products for customer applications," said Monty Rohde, Laird Technologies Director of Product Management. "The 3.5GHZ Vertically Polarized 120-degree Sector Base Station Antenna is small and tough, meets industry standards, is competitively priced, readily available, and a reliable customer solution."
