New RFID Solutions from Loftware to Debut at the 2006 EPC Global U.S. Conference in Los Angeles

Company to Demo Real-Time, Real-World RFID Pallet Build, Pallet Receive & Spot Check Reader Functionality

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Oct. 17 // -- Loftware, Inc., a leader of enterprise label output management and real-time RFID application solutions, today announced a new barcode and RFID software release of their enterprise suite offering. Called the Loftware Print Server (LPS) 9.0, it will be demonstrated at the annual EPCglobal U.S. Conference scheduled for October 17th - 19th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, at booth #204.

A proven brand leader of more than 20 years for its ability to integrate from a centralized software platform to both RFID 'Smart Labels' as well as traditional bar code labeling, this latest release of the Loftware Print Server features enhanced capabilities such as an updated user interface, an easily automated back-up and restore tool -- which synchronizes data from development servers to backup servers -- and augmented security for web customers by means of a standard secure socket layer (SSL) designed for users printing from a remote location across the Internet.

Loftware has also added supplemental support for RFID reader and printer hardware from various families, including integrated support for general purpose input/output (GPIO) and C1G2 support for ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID printers. At this time, LPS 9.0 contains six RFID label templates that are currently being used by Wal-Mart as well as the Department of Defense (DOD).

"The key to this advanced solution is to offer our customers a single multi-use software stack with one single instance of the Loftware Print Server. This allows Loftware customers standardization across all their applications and enterprises rather than purchasing multiple disparate systems that were never designed to work together. Offering one integrated platform to meet all barcode and smart label requirements as well as other RFID use cases like verification, pallet building, and pallet receiving is very attractive and cost effective," said Chief Technology Officer Dana Anderson.

"Further enhanced features of LPS 9.0 give developers the ability to quickly integrate to our unified software stacks quickly through our integrated and built-in .Net and JAVA API interfaces," continued Anderson. "Existing WMS, ERP and other business application infrastructures now for the first time have the ability to reliably deliver traditional label output management and emerging RFID applications into other parts of their operations via these easy-to-use interfaces with as little disruption as possible."
