June 13, 2007 - Featuring rigid, steel-beam construction, Hydrobar® Sprint 552 and 565 accept bar stock diameters from ¼-2 in. and ¼-2 5/8 in., respectively. Both operate with fixed or sliding headstock machines in either hydrodynamic or hydrostatic modes. Hydrostatic operation permits users to cut up to 12 ft bar stock at optimum spindle speeds without harmful vibrations, while hydrodynamic principle allows for wider range of bar stock diameters and 2-8 min changeovers.

LNS America Introduces 2 New Bar Feeds

New Bar Feeds Combine Rigid, Steel-Beam Construction With Advanced Technology To Enable Faster Spindle Speeds, Enhanced Product Quality & Longer Tool life

June 1, 2007 Cincinnati OH - Through advanced design and manufacturing techniques the new heavy-duty, compact LNS Hydrobar® Sprint 552 and 565 bar feeds provide increased stability while reducing bar vibration. As a result, these bar feeds improve productivity by enabling increased machine spindle RPM, improving surface finish and extending tool life. Using the same rigid beam construction as the well-known Sprint S2 with all steel, machined parts attached to the heavy-duty frame, both of these new Sprint models have improved stiffness to weight ratios. This heavy-duty structural design provides exceptional stability within a compact footprint while providing all of the advanced technology of the Sprint 555, which the new models replace.

The model 552 accepts bar stock diameters from ¼" to 2" (5 mm - 52 mm). The model 565 accepts bar stock from ¼" - 2-5/8" (5 mm - 65 mm). Both units operate with fixed or sliding headstock machines and are the only bar feeds that can operate in either hydrodynamic or hydrostatic modes. Hydrostatic operation permits users to cut up to 12' bar stock at optimum spindle speeds without harmful vibrations. The Hydrodynamic principle allows for a wider range of bar stock diameters, fewer guiding elements, and 2 - 8-minute changeovers, all of which reduce downtime, improve productivity and support unattended operation.

LNS Hydrobar Sprint 552 & 565 bar feeds include many other important features such as remnant disposal through the lathe or through the bar feed; no manual intervention for bar feed selection and front stabilizer adjustments; servo-driven, automatic torque and speed according to bar diameter; and quick, easy setups through a menu-driven, prompting remote control. Detailed specifications are available online at www.lnsamerica.com.
