NSK Precision America Introduces Compact FA Series Ball Screws
New products are available with two-week delivery on common sizes
Franklin, Indiana, May 15, 2008 - NSK Precision America has introduced the Compact FA Series of ball screws, which features a new design that achieves quiet, high-speed performance. To meet the market's increasing demand for shorter lead times, NSK is producing the Compact FA Series at its Franklin, Indiana facility to achieve two-week delivery on common sizes. Having manufactured ball screws since 1993, the Franklin facility announced the capability to produce the Compact FA series in March.
The Compact FA offers the fastest and quietest operation on the market and the enhanced design of the Compact FA Series increases rotational speeds by up to 60%, to a maximum of 5,000 rpm. This allows for increased performance in a wide variety of applications spanning the semiconductor, medical, factory automation and general manufacturing industries.
In addition to increased speed, the Compact FA Series provides a more compact, low-profile design, with diameters of ball nuts measuring as much as 30% less than in traditional models. Operating noise has also been reduced by 6 dB, approximately half of what is sensed by the ear.
Lubrication for the Compact FA Series is made possible via a grease fitting while two ports allow for easy maintenance or inclusion into an integrated lubrication system. New sealing technology minimizes grease dispersion, contributing to a cleaner working environment. Optional K1(TM) Lubrication Units can be used to further extend the product life of the Compact FA Series.
Two week delivery of the Compact FA Series is available in shaft diameters ranging from 10 mm to 25 mm with leads from 5 mm to 25 mm. Additional sizes are available with lead times greater than two weeks.
