Ball Bearings support ball and roller screws.
October 27, 2003 -
Series BSA/BSD single-direction, angular-contact ball bearings are all steel with contact angles of 60°. They are supplied in sets of 2, 3, or 4 bearings. Series BEAM/BEAS double-direction, angular-contact, thrust ball bearings are completely sealed with single-piece outer ring, split inner ring, and ball and cage assemblies. They accommodate axial loads and radial loads. Flanged-cartridge Series FBSA/FBSD incorporate matched sets of 4 angular-contact, thrust ball bearings.

New SKF® Bearings for Screw Drives Provide Ideal Support for Ball and Roller Screws
New SKF® ball bearings for screw drives provide necessary support for precision ball and roller screws utilized to drive multi-axis positioning tables in machine-tool applications. These new bearings can deliver longer life and greater stiffness and offer high dynamic and static load ratings; enhanced speed and acceleration capabilities; and superior axial rigidity and running accuracies.
This new SKF product line includes single-direction angular contact ball bearings (Series BSA/BSD); double direction angular contact thrust ball bearings (Series BEAM/BEAS); and flanged cartridge units (Series FBSA/FBSD). Customized bearing arrangements or housing designs can be specially engineered to meet particular application demands.
All-steel BSA/BSD bearings with contact angles of 60º are supplied in sets of two, three, or four bearings and feature optimized design, universal matchability, and superior performance and service-life capabilities. Space-saving BEAS/BEAM bearings consist of complete sealed units with single-piece outer ring, split inner ring, ball and cage assemblies and can accommodate axial loads (from both directions) and radial loads. Easy-to-mount FBSA/FBSD "greased for life" cartridge units incorporate matched sets of four angular contact thrust ball bearings and especially suit applications where extreme stiffness and/or high load rating in axial direction is required.
All SKF bearings for screw drives are available in a variety of bore sizes, arrangements, preloads, and load and speed ratings to satisfy technical and performance requirements in metal-cutting, woodworking, milling, and countless other precision machine-tool applications.
