July 25, 2002 - B240 uses servo-driven Parallel Motion to achieve speeds up to 24 bags/min. Bag opening and bag inserting steps overlap, so each step executes more slowly than would be required if they were sequential. Mandrel provides positive bag placement in boxes, cases, or other shipping containers. Available in stainless steel or painted steel, B240 runs tube stock, pre-perfed and sealed bags, or gusseted bags. Pneumatic Model B160 is offered for speeds up to 16 bags/min.

Consolidate Two Lines into One with Pearson's New Model B240 High-Speed Bag Inserter

Applications: Any industry which packs bulk items into bags in boxes - fruits and nuts, confections, grain and rice milling products, ingredients, many types of granular products including food and plastic products, bottle caps, drywall joint compound, adhesives and sealants, etc.

The B240 uses novel Parallel Motion (patents pending) to achieve speeds up to 24 bags/min and increased reliability. On display in Pearson Packaging's booth N-4029 at Pack Expo International (Nov. 3-7, 2002, Chicago), the B240 offers unique packaging benefits with use of servo-driven Parallel Motion. With Parallel Motion, bag opening and bag inserting steps overlap, so each step executes more slowly than would be required if they were sequential. The system uses a mandrel for positive bag placement in boxes, cases, or other shipping containers. With Parallel Motion, mandrel placement of bags is faster and more positive than systems that rely on air to place bags. With the B240, two existing lines can be consolidated into one, which improves productivity and saves space.

The B240 runs tube stock, pre-perfed and sealed bags, or gusseted bags. It's available in stainless steel, or painted steel construction. A pneumatic version of the B240, model B160, is available for lower-speed lines, up 16 bags/min. Pearson offers complete systems including a Case Erector, Bag Inserter, Bag Uncuffer, and Top Sealer.
