New Generator Back-Up Panel Supplies Gas without Interruption in Production Environments

Users Determine Pressure for Activation

February 17, 2006 - Virginia Beach, VA - A new back-up panel designed to provide an uninterrupted reserve supply of gas for nitrogen, air, or hydrogen generators used in
production environments has been introduced by CONCOA.

In the event of a power loss, or if a gas generator is unable to provide sufficient supply to the system, the Series 540 back-up panel automatically activates to supply the gas without interruption. When the generator resumes the ability to supply gas to the system, the reserve shuts down.

Adjustable pressure capability allows users to determine the pressure at which the reserve supplies the system. Check values on both the generator and the reserve prevent back flow to the generator or reserve cylinder, while shut-off valves on both allow for isolation and disconnection of either line. With the available remote alarm package, the system can signal when the reserve supply is active or running low.

Materials of construction are brass or 316L stainless steel barstock on the regulator body and brass or chrome-plated brass barstock on the bonnet. The seat is PTFE for 3000 PSIG; the filter, 10-micron multi-layer sintered wire mesh; diaphragm and pigtail, 316L stainless steel with check valve; the check-valve seat, Viton®; and the panel, 304 stainless steel.

Specifications include maximum inlet pressure of 3000 PSIG (210 BAR) and temperature range of -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C). Gauges are 2"-diameter brass or 316L stainless steel. Helium leak integrity is 1 x 10-9 sec/sec, and adjustable pressure range is 0 to 150 PSIG (0 to 10 BAR).

Certified ISO 9001, CONCOA manufactures a complete quality line of gas pressure and flow control equipment and delivery systems for worldwide medical, industrial, and specialty gas applications as well as distribution equipment for laser materials processing.
